Fire Dampers- a crucial preventative to fire spreading throughout a ventilation system.

Why?

In the event of a fire the Fire Damper closes. Usually, this is instigated through a thermal sensor which melts at temperatures higher than the atmosphere but low enough to indicate the presence of a fire. As a consequence, springs close the damper blades.

Fire Dampers therefore, remain open for the majority, if not all, of the time. Thus, it is crucial to monitor if they will still close effectively- when required.

Fire dampers save lives which is why regular testing, i addition to, fire damper cleaning and maintenance is  a legal requirement and an essential element of fire safety management.
